Choosing the right stacking chair

Not every stacking chair is built for the same job. A chair that's perfect for an assembly hall that is light, quick to stack, easy to move on a trolley isn't necessarily the right choice for a library or staffroom where comfort over longer periods matters more. Before choosing, it's worth thinking through:

  • How often will they be stacked and moved? Daily-use halls need chairs designed for high stack counts and frequent handling. Occasional-use spaces can prioritise comfort and finish over stacking height.
  • What's the seating duration? For short sittings such as assemblies, exams, events. A simple high-density shell is usually enough. For longer sessions, a shaped back and some give in the material makes a real difference.
