Ordering & Delivery

  1. Do you offer free delivery?
    The majority of our products are free delivery. Some ranges carry a minimum order value such as tickit. We are available to support you if you contact us with the item number contact on 0800 6771214 or fox@chequeredfox.co.uk
  2. How long will my order take to arrive? 
    Millhouse products are generally 10 working days, unless you are receiving the Gold service and this is tailored to you and your order. Most of our classroom resources (if in stock) can be with you 1-2 working days. Noticeboards, depending on the quantity and time ordered, can be next working day. Office and furniture products are generally 5-7 working days. Next day/install - we work with you to get your items as quick as possible. Please contact us
  3. Can I cancel or modify an order once placed?
    If you want to cancel or modify, ideally we need to know the same day so we can tell the manufacturer as soon as possible. But please contact us and we can try and sort for you. If your item has already been despatched it is likely you may incur a collection and redelivery charge. 

 Space Planning & Setup

  1. What is included in your free space planning service?
    Nursery and early years - we work with you and your classroom  to offers free, comprehensive planning for indoor and outdoor spaces (2d, 3d drawings), there is a lead time on this. Approximately 2 weeks but we can let you know when you enquire and will do our best to accommodate you if there is urgency to your requirements. Classroom and higher education - We can offer you 2d and 3d drawings to help plan your space and see how to make the most of your space. Office - We offer 2d, 3d and also video walk throughs if needed. There may be a separate charge for this, but we will make the most from your space with your brief. 
  2. Can you set up the furniture in our room?
    Early years- If you order items from Millhouse and receive the Gold Service, orders over £4000 ex vat Millhouse dedicated install team will provide the installation. In addition Chequered Fox works with you to provide a further service and coordinate the install, this is a chargeable service and can be different for each quote.

  1. Are your products suitable for early years/nursery settings?
    Absolutely—we specialise in early years, classroom, and office furniture and accessories.
  2. Are materials safe and durable?
    Millhouse - Built to European safety standards: Millhouse explicitly states that their products conform to EN71, as well as EN1176 and EN16121, which are key regulations for toys and educational furniture in the UK/EU. Postura

    Anti-static and anti-rocking for student safety. BS EN1729–1:2015. BS EN1729-2:2023, BS EN16139 Level 2 (Size 6) certified. Dressing up - Tested to EN71 toy safety standards, CE marked. TickiT - products are rigorously tested and comply with the latest worldwide regulations including BSEN71, EN71, ASTM F963, SOR & ISO8124.

  3. Do you have a product brochure or samples?
    We do have some physical catalogues for some of our ranges, but our website showcases most of the products we have to offer. However, if you don’t see an item you require, we will do our best to source and fulfil.

Pricing & Grants

  1. Do you offer volume discounts for large orders?

    Yes, we do offer volume-based discounts depending on the size and nature of your order. Please get in touch with us to provide details about the products and quantities you’re interested in. We’ll be happy to provide a tailored quote for you.

  2. How does the Nursery Capital Grant work?
    The Department for Education (DfE) has awarded 300 schools a total of £37 million under the school-based nursery capital grant for 2024 to 2025. Providers can use this grant to repurpose spare space in school buildings, to create or expand nursery provision . Chequered Fox are here to help you with your nursery space and resourcing it.
    If you spend over £5,000 (excl. VAT), you qualify for £750 credit to spend on additional Chequered Fox resources 

Returns, Warranty & Support

  1. What is your returns policy?
    Damages reported with an image in 24 hours 
  2. Is there a guarantee or warranty on products?
    Millhouse products - varies by product and this information is shown on our website and in our catalogues. Most of our furniture has a Lifetime Guarantee.  Tables, chairs, role play panels and kitchens all have a 5-year guarantee.  Soft furnishings, tubs and baskets have a 1-year guarantee. O
    n most of our other products we offer a 1 years manufactures guarantee.
  3. Who can I contact for questions or aftercare support?
    They have a contact form (linked under “Contact”) and social media, call or email us. Chequered Fox is open 8am-6pm week days. 

Miscellaneous

  1. Can I order accessories or small items separately?
    Yes—we offer accessories like Winthur cycle racks, storage trays, glue sticks, There may be a shipping charge. 
  2. Do you only offer furniture and resources? No we offer lots of other things, noticeboards/whiteboards
